Deion Sanders Already Named His Son Shedeur Colorado's 2023 Starting Quarterback In His Introductory Press Conference
Coach Prime wasted no time walking into Boulder and letting everybody know things will be changing very quickly. He told the Colorado team in his first meeting that some of them need to enter the transfer portal to make way for the players he's bringing in to replace them and then basically made a formal announcement that Shedeur Sanders would be the Buffs' starting quarterback next season in his introductory press conference.
Deion added, "He's gonna have to earn it," but I think everyone understood before and after this announcement that Shedeur would be Colorado's quarterback next season. I saw some people on Twitter upset about this and to those people I would ask: have you seen Colorado's 2022 passing statistics?
Shedeur Sanders completed 314 of 448 passes for 3,403 yards and 36 touchdowns this season. If Coach Prime got up to that podium and announced he had already landed a quarterback with those stats and didn't say who it was, people would be calling him the greatest recruiter of all-time.
I don't know what Colorado football is going to look like in 2023, but I'm fired up to find out. The Buffs are going to be one of the most fascinating teams in the country as long as Deion Sanders is at the helm.
