Too Big, Too Strong - The USMNT's Golden Generation Officially Arrived

That's a fucking win boys and girls. That's what we do. We're the United States and we're going to beat Iran. That's exactly what happened. It all started by dominating the first half. We are advancing because Captain America, our soccer savior, Christian Pulisic quite literally laid his nuts on the line for a goal:

Then the second half was much like Wales. I hated what Gregg did except for one thing. Walker Zimmerman saved the match late with some headers and clears. He was the only good sub we had (outside of Aaronson). Haji Wright and Shaq Moore were disasters. Acosta was just out there. Someone will need to answer how Gio Reyna only played 7 minutes in the group stage. That made no sense.

But Tyler Adams is a legit star. Yunus Musah was fucking awesome and battled despite being winded. Tim Weah should have had a second goal. McKennie delivered the ball to Dest (who was good) to set up the Pulisic goal. I thought Antonee Robinson played a good game too. Those guys just saved Gregg's job for now. Those guys just saved America from a failure of a World Cup. We had to get out of that group and that's what we did. Now we get Netherlands. Is it going to be easy? Fuck no. But we're in win or advance mode again. We accomplished goal 1 which was get out of group stage.

Now Sargent looked seriously hurt. We'll wait to see what happens with Pulisic's injury. But we need someone to step up and score. Can't rely on Pulisic and Weah all the time. That's the one downfall right now. We don't have people finishing crosses. We are still a mess on set pieces. But we are moving on. That's what matters.

No more parking the bus early though. Deal?

Beat Netherlands. Or Holland. Or whatever else they call themselves.
