Everyone has heard horror stories about Chicago winters. I tend to think that those rumors are pretty exaggerated, perhaps because I'm used to them, but our winters do suck no doubt. Weather aside to me they're just.... boring.

That is aside from one magical Friday each winter. That magical Friday is Weishfest. If you're in Chicago, you've at least heard it in passing. If you're not or are unfamiliar with the foundation and their main event, Weishfest, this is the charity's mission statement:

Before he passed in October of 2012, Andrew asked his younger brother Dan to "pay forward" the acts of kindness and generosity shown to their family. In early 2013, Weish4Ever was created to honor this selfless request, specifically by: easing the financial burden, bringing joy, and ensuring patients and their families know they're not alone in this fight against cancer.

Easy peasy! Except raising millions of dollars for young adults battling cancer is extremely difficult. We'll touch on that in a moment.

We at Barstool Chicago have worked with the foundation for years now. Here's a video of one of the beneficiaries we have worked with in the past, Patrick:

Of all the great organizations we work with, the Andrew Weishar Foundation is maybe my favorite. Incredible cause and the Weishar family is sincerely great. Those who know the Weishar family know exactly what I'm talking about. There is not an adequate amount of superlatives I can place on how incredible that family is.

Giphy Images.

Cancer still exists, which means the Andrew Weishar Foundation still exists, which means Weishfest still exists. Weishfest is a concert held every winter at Bourbon St. in Merrionette Park where 100% of ticket, food, and alcohol sales go DIRECTLY to families with young adults battling cancer

There are LEGIT acts that come to Weishfest. In the past handful of years, OAR, Dispatch, 3rd Eye Blind and other national acts have performed. This year they have the following:

- The Fray (headliner)
- Mitchell Tenpenny
- Morgan Evans
- Quinn XCII

There will also be a postgame with DJ Dante The Don battening down the hatches after those guys are all through. Here's what you need to do:

1. Go to www.weishfest.com
2.  Buy tickets

And when you buy the tickets, buy the Gold tickets. There are only around 200 gold tickets left as I write this blog, which run $150 and get you all you can eat/drink food and booze for the ENTIRE evening. WELL worth the price tag and again, 10000000% of that ticket goes directly to the foundation and will be repackaged into a gift to a young adult battling that shitty disease.

It's truly my favorite part of winter. If you can't attend in person, you can also donate to the foundation directly via the splash page below:

Do it to it!!! Come have a night of drunken shenanigans all in the name of helping improve the lives of those who are battling cancer. I GUARANTEE you will not regret it.

There are also shuttles from 3 separate Chicago locations to get to/from the event, including one at Barstool River North and you can reserve your spot in the shuttles as well:

Once again, do it. And get your gold tickets now. There are around 250 $50 GA tickets available still, but then you'll be buying all of your food/booze on top of it, so just sink the $150 into the gold ticket while you can.

SEE EVERYONE THERE!!!!!
