The Hero Buffalo Needs….Ryan Whitney Is Here To Save The City!

The date is November 4th and there is no better story in the NHL season than the Tage Thompson and the Buffalo Sabres winning games and scoring goals at a frantic pace. The talk at the bars on Chippewa Street went from can this young team make the playoffs to can we see a home ice game for the playoffs? And everyone who has not been to a playoff game in Buffalo is missing out. The place is bonkers.

The Bills have swamped the headlines in Buffalo and rightfully so and that left the Sabres under the radar while the hockey season was getting cranked up. The Bills were sitting at 6-1 and having just exercised the demons of Kansas City and the do-it-all QB looked like Superman. This had more Buffalo fans dreaming of home field throughout the playoffs and looking to the desert for tickets to the Super Bowl.

Is it a coincidence that the two teams had two amazing starts that just happened to come after the Spittin’ Chiclets crew hosted the best Chiclets Cup to date in the city of Buffalo? The Chiclets crew were all patting themselves on the back saying the tournament gave the biggest “Chiclets Bump” to Buffalo. Mix in the release of Big Deal Brewing and the city known for all the bad beats and shitty weather was now at the center of the sports world.

Ok deep breath….. Let’s fast forward two weeks and there is a giant black cloud over the city. The weather is turning and the wings might not taste as good. This time it is not from a lake effect snowstorm, it’s the panic for both their beloved sports teams.

Since Nov 4th, the Buffalo Sabres are 0-5 losing all the games by multiple goals and my beloved Buffalo Bills are 0-2 with just a ridiculous loss Sunday vs the Vikings. This is not good!

I have looked in the mirror and repeated many times that everything is good for both teams. This is the year that the sports world has to deal with Buffalo both the fans and the teams. But I also understand that the Chiclets Cup bump has an expiration date and we need to inject some more flavor into the city… The answer is Ryan “Pink Whitney” Whitney.
