The Double Knockout Is One Of The Most Beautiful* Sights In Hockey
*Beautiful as long as you are able to fully disregard the potential massive brain injury implications involved with a double KO as vicious as that.
There are plenty of awesome things that can happen throughout the course of a hockey game that lose a bit of their luster after you see them happen a few times. The first time you witness thousands of hats rain down on the ice after a player scores his 3rd goal of the game is great. But after a few times you realize that hat tricks just end up being a waste of time. The first hundred or so times you saw someone successfully pull of "The Michigan" was awesome. But now that one seemingly happens once per week, it's not that great anymore.
But the double knockout? Well that's something that is awesome each and every single time you see one happen. It doesn't happen often but when it does, you know that you just witnessed something truly special. Just a couple of guys trying to save on their electric bills and simultaneously turning the lights out. This one almost seemed a little synchronized, too, which added a nice flair to things. Probably the best double knockout I've seen since Brennan Huff vs Dale Doback.
So let's get some stick taps going for Brandon Yeamans and Andrew Bellant. A couple of warriors down in the ECHL who are doing their best to keep hockey violent. They don't make 'em like they used to anymore, but we've got a couple of throwbacks in these two gems.
