The Definitive Power Rankings Of All 29 Of The New NBA City Jerseys

It's that time of the year when I see a bunch of people on Twitter getting mad about NBA jerseys. I personally enjoy it. I find it hilarious because there are some truly awful looking ones. So it's a slow day and I know people love to argue rankings, I figured I'd put a power rankings here together. Nate did the same for NHL so we'll run it back here, just in opposite order. Get the ugly ones out of the way.

Note the Jazz aren't here.

29. Phoenix Suns

Right idea, horrible execution. Gotta have something besides the giant Suns logo on the front. I'm not a fan of that look no matter the team.

28. Golden State Warriors

Not a fan of two-tone jerseys, even with a design. That said it's so bad looking that it's almost good looking. Key word, almost.

27. Miami Heat

Classic example of nailing it the first couple times and then getting lazy. The Heat used to have the best jerseys. The pink, the blue, etc. Now we have this. I know they have to mix it up, but this is the 'we're out of ideas, hold on, let's just throw a plus on the back and it'll change it all.'

26. Orlando Magic

This is a jersey. That's how I assume they designed it to look. Eh good enough.

25. Chicago Bulls

'Shit guys, our assignment is due in one hour. We overslept.' We've all been there, we just aren't designing jerseys. Love the tag of honoring the past while looking at the future. Sure. Just slap a couple things on the side and call it a day.

24.  Toronto Raptors

Another team that just looks to be wearing jerseys they've worn before. Just bring back the Vince Carter-era look and we'll all be happy. It's right there.

23. Cleveland Cavs

This is apparently for Cleveland Metroparks. Cool? You don't have to make everything The Land. I know it's a city jersey, but Cleveland is fine. Need more of a darker color in there to balance the white and gold.

22. Minnesota Timberwolves

This would have been higher if they had the multi-color look more. It seems like they forgot to put it elsewhere. So close to being great and much like the team they are failing. Hopefully this helps DLo remember the rules of the game and you need to be on the court to make 5 players.

21. Brooklyn Nets

Sure. Pretty standard to what they've been wearing for city jerseys.

20. Charlotte Hornets

Just stop with the CLT. Again, this could have been a great jersey but I hate the CLT for Charlotte so much. The teal and gold could be an elite color combo. We don't see that in any sport. Wear that with black on the trim and you're working with something here.

19. Portland Trail Blazers

Getting into the World Cup with the sash look. I don't hate it. Could do without PDX though. Something about the abbreviated/airport codes bother me. I am who I am.

18. Indiana Pacers

The shorts help save them here. I like the shorts. I like they went with black and blue. Mix it up a bit with color schemes. But the thick striping is a little too much.

17. Boston Celtics

Big fan of script. That's a win. Celtics should embrace more of the gold look though. Just go all the way in with it.

16. New Orleans Pelicans

Once I saw the yellow stripe stop I got pissed. That or go with a different color shorts. The big black blob from the bottom of the jersey to the shorts annoys me. You're New Orleans, you can rock weird looks.

15. Los Angeles Lakers

They couldn't even tweet out their jersey. It's that average, which is better than their current team.

14. Oklahoma City Thunder

They should just make this their actual jersey. It's good, not great. Good. Better than their current blue look. I like the blue on the black with white trim. Give me more looks like this.

13. Denver Nuggets

Not a bad look. Clean with a little flash to it. I can get down with it which is why they make the top half. Font could be better, that's the one thing holding it back.

12. Detroit Pistons

I like that they went completely away from their normal colors. Mix it up completely and maybe you become a better team. The gold stars a nice touch and even though they have 5 colors it's not too much.

11. Philadelphia 76ers

Pretty clean which is a win. Also the font is awesome. I love when teams wear a unique font like this. It has a little bit of a soccer jersey look to it, which always plays. Not sure how I feel about the red stripe on the side.

10. Memphis Grizzlies

These are good. We're in the good category. Like the font, reminds me a little of their Vancouver style look. That said, it's tough to be higher when they have a better jersey (the retro). Black and gold always plays for me though.

9. Atlanta Hawks

This feels like a jersey from a movie, but I don't hate it. You have to lean into Peach here and they did just that. Again, the font is unique and a win. Kind of wish they went with a different color than white for the Atlanta though. Maybe go with that peach color and use the numbers as the one darker color.

8. Los Angeles Clippers

I don't know why but the all lower case bothers me. My weird brain at work. I like the colors. I like the font. I like the improvement on the black jersey from their black and white regular ones.

7. Washington Wizards

Cherry Blossom always plays. Elite jersey, awful shorts. Stop with the two-tone look. Stop with the gradient look. Just wear the cherry blossom, throw some blue as stripes or piping. Simple. I just fixed the Wizards.

6. Dallas Mavericks

Embrace the 70s. They stayed clean with the simple blue look and went crazy with the font and lettering color. I like it. It's unique. It's the only one like this. Luka might even look fast in it.

5. Milwaukee Bucks

People will probably hate on the sides but it does it for me. Similar to the Mavs they kept it clean for the majority of the jersey and went wild there. I'm fine with it. Like the touch of the logo on the side of the shorts and nowhere else. Big fan.

4. New York Knicks

Would have it been better if they just went with the Sprewell era look? Of course. The only downside to these jerseys is the two-tone sides. Should have just went all blue or all orange. Both look good with black as the main look. Black and orange is elite.

3. Sacramento Kings

Simple and a fire color scheme. Big fan of the look. Like the purple touches everywhere. Honestly they should wear these on a regular basis. Get rid of the classic white jerseys and make these instead.

2. San Antonio Spurs

Fiesta is back as it should be. There's a reason everyone remembers the All-Star jerseys from back in the day. They are awesome. Gone is the plain black and white look. In is teal and fiesta. Pop probably doesn't know how to feel about these. The font is a bit childish but I'm all in on it.

1. Houston Rockets

Hey remember our old jerseys that everyone talks about? What if we just wore those? Nailed it. Some people speak fondly of the 90s looks because it reminds us of an awesome time. But these are just good jerseys. You have a fun, young team. Wear this.
