A Completely Normal World Cup: FIFA Sent A Letter To All 32 Teams Telling Them Only To Talk About Soccer, Not How Fucking Stupid Qatar Is
Sure, this makes sense. I mean this would happen anywhere, clearly not just Qatar. Very normal World Cup rolls on this month. Now here's the thing. You HAVE to talk about how dogshit Qatar is because it's the whole background for how they got the World Cup. It showed how corrupt FIFA is. It showed how stupid the entire process was/is and now we're here.
You have EVERYONE still talking about it because we should be. People were killed to build stadiums. Every day some sort of new story comes out showing how dumb this entire thing is. Hell, not only did we have this letter, there's this story out there:
T's and P's to the Wonton Don and PFT
Think about how goddamn stupid that tweet looks like if you put a bunch of other countries that should be hosting the World Cup instead there. Report critical social media posts? They aren't going to be allowed to sleep. All you see is how stupid Qatar is for hosting this event and then people complaining about the actual soccer. I'd honestly want a report on all the critical social media posts. I'd pay to see them all filed together and just laugh.
This is how FIFA just continues to be hypocritical as shit though. You can't sit here and threaten to kick out Tunisia and Iran for government things. Two different government things, but nonetheless. You can't have that and then turn around and be like 'hey look over here at this shiny object. Let's ignore the fact Qatar has some of the most assbackwards rules we've seen! All is fine!'
So here we are. A few weeks away from the World Cup and we have all this going on. We have people blasting the idea of interrupting the regular seasons for clubs for this. We have stars missing the World Cup because of the quick break and turnaround. We have the dumbest World Cup I've ever seen.
