IT'S HAPPENING (Kind Of) - Inter Miami Is Reportedly Confident In Signing Messi, Would Come To America In 2023

[Source] - The most advanced of those options is understood to be Inter Miami, to the extent that the Major League Soccer franchise now expect Messi to arrive and hope he will sign in the coming months.

Discussions between the two parties have been going on for a couple of years and there is increasing confidence that the proposed transfer will materialise.

Jorge and Jose Mas — the brothers who co-own Inter Miami alongside David Beckham — are leading the negotiations and numerous meetings have taken place with the star’s father, Jorge.

He's coming home! Or something like that. If England can sign the song and never win anything, surely we can despite Messi being from Argentina. I want to see Messi in the MLS, preferably for FC Cincinnati though. Don't need to see him and Beckham teaming up in Miami. That's too good looking of a team. But it's also expected. This has been a rumor for some time now and he even reportedly was going to buy 35% of the team.

I mean he's still fucking good and playing for PSG obviously. I hope he comes over here. Fuck it. Let's get crazy in the MLS. I know we don't want all the older players coming over and finishing their career with one leg here, but we're talking about Messi. He's going to draw eyeballs and help the MLS keep getting better - which it actually is. It's never going to be the EPL (obviously) or something like that, but it's getting respectable which is a huge win.

I still remember working for the Red Bulls back in the day when Beckham showed up in the MLS. That was one of the more surreal things because everyone 1) viewed MLS as a joke and 2) crowds like that were ridiculous. Remember the Red Bulls used to play at Giants Stadium. It was PACKED. Everyone wanted to see Beckham. Now we have reports of Messi showing up and people don't really bat an eye as much.

That said, it's not lost on me how hilarious it is to see Inter Miami in a battle with PSG and Barcelona to get Messi. Three legendary clubs if you ask me. You know who would be too scared to do this? Ronaldo. Probably wouldn't even draw interest from an MLS team to be honest. I wouldn't want that drama in Cincinnati. He'd get all pissy that someone missed a cross and then sulk. P.U.

I am curious to see how Messi handles this. He's 35. He's achieved everything in Europe. Come over to the MLS. Come enjoy Florida and do a pizza review with Dave. Go the clubs with Bald Paul. Have yourself a time in Miami.
