John Oates Met Daryl Hall In The Midst Of A Gang Shootout When They Both Ran Into The Same Elevator To Escape
Last week, Clem and I interviewed John Oates of the legendary duo Daryl Hall and John Oates (NOT Hall & Oates - as they've never liked/called themselves that) and he was the absolute man.
We discussed how he met his musical partner Daryl Hall in the midst of a Philadelphia gang shootout in 1967 - where they both happened to run into the same elevator to escape, he told us all about headlining Live Aid with Mick Jagger and Tina Turner in 1985, and we got into the songs he wished that he had wrote, his biggest inspirations, his hobbies (like being a racecar driver and pilot), and much more.
Check out this clip of John Oates telling us who he believes were the TRUE rockstars of the 70s/80s for a little taste....
....and listen in to the above video for more.
Then throw on some of Hall & Oates' Daryl Hall & John Oates' classic hits, cause there's just jam after jam in their catalogue....
