Who Cares About Some Van Gogh Painting? That Was A Criminal Waste Of Perfectly Delicious Tomato Soup

By now I'm sure you've seen the video of these lovely contributing members of society dousing a Van Gogh painting with a couple cans of tomato soup. Fortunately, we have reason to keep faith in humanity because the overwhelming response to this stunt has been to dunk on these two idiots. The pendulum of society is finally starting to swing back to the middle and people don't give a flying fuck about these so-called "activists" who just pull stunts like this for the publicity anymore. Thank goodness.

However, I've seen far too many folks who are upset for Vincent Van Gogh here. Claiming that Van Gogh had nothing to do with climate change, and how he was an impoverished, mentally-unwell struggling artist who doesn't deserve to have his works vandalized in such a manner. Which is all well and good and everything....but....

Are we even going to talk about what a tremendous waste of tomato soup that was? I mean what the actual fuck are we doing here? It's the middle of October. It is PEAK soup season. A nice, creamy tomato bisque with a perfectly gooey grilled cheese to dunk in that sucker? Oh lordy! Maybe even toss a few crisp pieces of bacon in the grilled cheese?

Giphy Images.

It just pains me to see that much soup wasted in peak soup season. Don't cry for Van Gogh, cry for all the people in the world who want nothing more than to pull up to a nice cozy spot, preferably dimly-lit, with a bowl of their favorite soup and have one of the most delightful autumn afternoons anybody could ask for. A bowl of soup, a hot coffee, maybe even an ice cold glass of some dark beer to wash it all down with. It is Friday, after all.

At any rate…the real travesty here isn't the fact that these idiots attempted to destroy a painting valued at $100M. It's the fact that these idiots have desecrated the sanctity of soup season, and there isn't a depth of hell low enough for scumbags like that who would do such a thing.

Now allow our good pal Chef Donny to teach you all how to whip up the perfect grilled cheese and tomato soup. These terrorists can try all they want to create an international tomato soup shortage, but we won't go down without a fight.
