'They Are Going To Terrorize You. Go Elope' - Mike Leach, Breaking Down Weddings During An Interview The Only Way He Can

Somehow I missed this and still felt the need to put this up. Why? Because 1) Mike Leach giving wedding advice is fucking hilarious and 2) people really love to debate elopement vs weddings. Shit, people like to argue about anything wedding related. DJ vs Band. Friday vs Saturday. How Fall weddings are stupid. The list goes on and on and everyone has an opinion. Now as someone who is married, I can say that Mike Leach is spot on that people in the family will terrorize you leading up to the day. Because, again, everyone has an opinion. You have to balance the opinions with what you actually want. 

That said, Mike Leach being a big time elopement guy is the least shocking thing ever. You think he wants to put on a suit and sit at a wedding? Of course not. The man looks uncomfortable in a polo let alone a shirt and tie. You think he wants to sit there and small talk? Actually, yeah, I think he would love that. Dude loves to talk. Probably wants to give a speech at every wedding he's ever been at. But Leach seems like the type of guy who is simple and wants to get in and out. No bullshit, no celebrations, just grab a couple beers and cheers. 

Weddings are fun though. I'm a big time wedding guy - as long as it's done right. Decent food, good music, open bar. That's really it. Oh and making sure everything is in one spot. Nothing worse than having togo to a church, then it's a 20 minute drive to the reception and then you have to go to the hotel. Give me it all right in the same area. 

One of his daughters has to take the $10k offer. Good chunk of cash that's worth it. Shit, take the $10k and spend a few thousand on a reception only where you get more cash from other people and get the party. Win-win.
