Matt Barnes Now Suggests That Ime Udoka Will Be Lucky To Ever Coach In The NBA Again Given How Serious The Situation Is

The last time we heard from Matt Barnes, he was in his car dropping a pretty huge bomb about how severe the Ime Udoka situation actually was

100x worse than reported? Yeah, that's a big deal. Since then the team has had a press conference and Media Day and we still don't really know what the deal is outside of the fact that Ime is suspended for the year and most likely will never coach in Boston again. Who knows if we ever learn what actually happened, but when I hear that Brad is trying to bring back a familiar face in Jay Larranaga to add to the coaching staff, someone who worked under Brad and is a well respected coach, it should tell you just how fucked this situation is.

I want you to keep that nugget in mind when you hear what Matt Barnes had to say today about the issue. Not only did he double down about how bad this shit was, but he took it up a notch

Two things immediately stood out based on what Barnes said

1. It's not so much what he did, but who he did it with

2. When it comes out, Ime will be lucky to ever coach in the NBA again

That's a pretty big accusation. Never coach again? That's crazy. I can understand not coaching the Celtics again, but any NBA team? That seems extreme but at the same time, we have no idea what the hell Barnes is referencing. Let's say your a team that underachieves this season and you fire your coach. Are you going to give a shit about what happened in another franchise? Say the Sixers lose in the 2nd round again or the Nets lose in the first round and they both fire their coaches. They aren't calling Ime? Someone who has already been an assistant with each of those teams, all because of what he did in Boston? According to Matt Barnes, it's that bad.

On one hand, Matt Barnes is basically our only source in terms of getting any sort of idea what happened. Woj and Shams have been quiet. The team obviously isn't saying anything. We haven't even had a Brian Windhorst meme about it yet. On the other hand though, this is kind of annoying. If you know it, just say it. Stop alluding to how bad it is and just say it. I get he says it's not his place to say it, but it's his place to keep talking about how bad it is? I don't think Barnes is making it up, I think he really knows! That's what makes this video kind of annoying to watch. If you remember, Richard Jefferson did something similar too when everything was breaking in real time

If there's someone out there telling all these former players what the real situation is, how has nobody reported it? It's honestly one of the most bizarre situations I can remember. Something as high profile as this scandal and it's just radio silence from all the NBA newsbreakers. When does that ever happen? We're a week into this situation and the only real change of information we have is that we went from Woj reporting it was a consensual relationship to Shams following up saying Ime made unwanted comments. If this is truly as bad as Jefferson and Barnes are suggesting, how on earth hasn't it gotten out. I'm not talking about Twitter speculation and rumors from accounts with "sources" either. I'm talking real Big Js. Does that not seem crazy to anyone else or am I just too close to this situation?

Either way, I feel like Barnes doesn't go on record like this if it truly wasn't as bad as he was suggesting. What that actually is however is anyone's guess.
