Call of Duty Added A 3rd Person Game Mode In Modern Warfare 2 And It Can Completely Save CoD Multiplayer

This mode can potentially save Call of Duty multiplayer!

For the most part, the MW2 beta is what you'd expect. It's an updated game engine with new guns and new maps. Aside from that, it's the same standard Call of Duty multiplayer that we've seen forever. However, this 3rd person mode is a legit game changer.

I started playing it Sunday night during the beta and I can't get enough of it. It's something so different and so unique that we really haven't seen much of before in Call of Duty.

The 3rd person mode is an awesome change of pace from your standard multiplayer experience. It definitely takes some time to get used to but it weirdly feels even smoother than the 1st person mode. The biggest thing you gotta get used to is ADSing in first person then swapping back to third person. It takes some time, but it's really easy to get the hang of.

Immediately after playing this, my mind starts racing - will we see 3rd person Warzone? Will we get 3rd person gunfight tournaments? Could the Call of Duty League have some fun and add a third person mode?

So many things to consider. Now, it's important to note, the 3rd person mode is a completely separate mode from regular 1st person Call of Duty. So everyone in a multiplayer lobby will either be playing 1st person or 3rd person. There isn't cross play between 3rd and 1st person. Now this is a really good thing because both play styles are very different.

Overall, I absolutely love the 3rd person mode and I'm excited to see Call of Duty try and innovate multiplayer in some way.
