Richard Sherman Trolls The "Let Russ Cook" Coalition During Russell Wilson's Embarrassing Start vs The Texans

If you're a casual NFL fan with a pulse you know the "Let Russ Cook" movement is what drove Russell Wilson from Seattle to Denver. Well, in the Broncos' home opener on Sunday against the Texans — one of the consensus worst teams in the NFL — Wilson isn't exactly lighting it up. Richard Sherman took notice and went out of his way to retweet some lowlights from the first half as Wilson posted an awful stat line.

To be fair, Russ is dealing with a rookie head coach in Nathaniel Hackett who, last Monday night, made some of the most dumbass game management decisions in NFL coaching history. That's not hyperbole. Worse, Wilson didn't have the guts to save Hackett and cost himself a chance at revenge on the Seahawks in Seattle.

Wilson finished the first half of today's game with just six completions on 19 pass attempts for 93 yards, resulting in a 6-6 score. At the time, I thought: Houston really about to tie for the second week in a row? The fact that it was in play and the Texans were deadlocked with their opponents for seven whole quarters to begin the 2022 campaign was stranger than fiction.

The final damage: A 16-9 Broncos win, with Wilson going 14-of-31 passing for 219 yards, a TD, a pick, and a 66.4 passer rating.

Sherman was an All-Pro cornerback who played alongside Wilson on two NFC championship teams and a Super Bowl winner. I don't think Sherman has respected him since that goal line interception to cost the Seahawks a second Lombardi Trophy. IDK. Once Sherman started playing in San Francisco, I remember them exchanging jerseys after a game. Maybe things have changed since Russ left Seattle unceremoniously. Who knows.

I just know that I like Richard Sherman and his authenticity a hell of a lot more than Russell Wilson's weirdo robot ass.
