Erin Andrews Cheats Death on The Phone With Aaron Rodgers

Erin Andrews told a wild story on this week's episode of Calm Down with Erin and Charissa, a podcast she has with Charissa Thompson. Andrews was on her way to cover the Packers-Vikings game in Green Bay for Week 1 of the NFL season. As you can see in this picture of her still having it at age 44, she made it safely to the stadium.

To get from Chicago to Green Bay, Andrews hired a car service. During the drive, Andrews was on a conference call prepping for the game. Members of the call included Greg Olsen and Aaron Rodgers. Everything was going smoothly as they cruised 65 mph down the highway, when all of the sudden she heard snoring. She looked up from her computer and her driver was fast asleep. 65 mph on a crowded interstate. Her hired driver. Her professional driver. 2 o'clock in the afternoon. He was fast asleep at the wheel.

Andrews said she put herself on mute, pulled out her headphones, and yelled at the driver, "ARE YOU EFFING SLEEPING" (unclear if she said the actual swear or not). Thankfully the driver woke up and continued driving. He was "awake" but she could see him starting to fade out as he fought to stay awake.

Being a consummate professional, Andrews heroically didn't skip a beat on the conference call. Since she muted her phone, nobody on the call heard the incident. Aaron Rodgers was none the wiser. She had to finish the call with anxiety on 1000 because her driver was seconds away from killing them both.

After the call, Andrews had the driver pull over at a McDonald's where she went inside and bought him a coffee. He did not drink the coffee, and they continued their drive to Green Bay.

Crazy move to not drink the caffeine your passenger bought you after you nearly killed her because you couldn't stay awake. Especially when your passenger is Erin Andrews. If Erin Andrews buys you a coffee, I don't care what the situation is, you drink it. If she buys you a sandwich, you eat it. If she buys you nipple clamps, you put them on and say thank you.

Andrews rode the rest of the way in the back seat having a mild panic attack as she stared daggers at the driver's lifeless eyes through the rearview mirror. Making sure to cough loudly every 30 seconds in an attempt to keep him awake. Luckily, they made it safely to Green Bay.

I don't know what type of car service she used, but it's hilarious how they just let anybody drive Uber and Lyft. I drove Lyft when I lived in Los Angeles. All I had to do was scan my drivers license, show proof of insurance, and meet some unshowered man with long hair in the parking lot of a Denny's. I drove a single lap around the block with this guy in my passenger seat. He more or less just made sure I knew how to use turn signals. The whole thing took less than 15 minutes. From there, I was a professional driver in Los Angeles. A city I had been living in for 2 weeks. I haven't felt safe in a Lyft since.

There has to be an airport near Green Bay right? Maybe splurge for the plane ticket next time, Erin. You can afford it.
