Lea Michele Says That The Rumors About Her Illiteracy "Wouldn't Happen If She Was A Man"

Lea Michele addresses the rumor that she can’t read: “I went to ‘Glee’ every single day; I knew my lines. Then there’s a rumor online that I can’t read or write? It’s sad. It really is. I think often if I were a man, a lot of this wouldn’t be the case.”

There have been rumors for years that Lea Michele can't read. That during "Glee," she would have to have her lines read to her, so she could memorize them, but never have to actually read them aloud from a sheet of paper. Tiktok goes crazy with this theory and I won't lie, they've provided some compelling evidence over the years. It was always funny, and the fact that Lea Michele never addressed it made it even funnier. What an absurd rumor. Now? After this claim? I'm starting to think she can't read.

If she really felt the need to address it, why wouldn't she just play along? Make a joke of the whole thing? Do SOMETHING to show how fucking absurd the rumor is? Nope, not our girl Lea. Instead, she told the New York Times that it's sad that the rumors are happening, and "if she were a man," nobody would be making fun like this. Well, as a WOMAN, I do not accept that. I'm sure there are plenty of illiterate men in Hollywood! Nobody thinks you didn't pass Kindergarten and your ABCs just because you're a girl, Lea. Nobody. This fake stupid joke rumor does NOT fall under the category of "the plight of women." I'm not breaking out my red ribbon and black dress for this "Time's Up" angle. The pay gap doesn't exist because "women can't read good." Don't insult us like this. 

You know what she needs to do? She needs to record a video of herself, reading from a book. That's it. Maybe we even just have her reading tweets! She could read joke tweets about how she can't read! It's very, very easy to prove that you can read. Don't blame the lack of evidence on the fact that you have a vagina.
