Another (Final) Week Of NFL Preseason, Another Malik Willis Logic-Defying Arm Angle...And As We Know, Rookie's Got WHEELS

I'm not saying, "START MALIK WILLIS NOW, MIKE VRABEL!" I am saying, even though the rookie third-round pick is raw in terms of seeing the field, we're already seeing Willis make strides from the pocket and playing within the structure of the offense.

We saw it last week:

Exhibit B: Tonight's touchdown throw to draft classmate Treylon Burks. Haters will say his footwork needs to be better or something but like, you can't coach that type of physical talent and unique playmaking ability.

Same goes for this chunk gain on the ground in which Willis almost takes it to the damn house:

Yeah, yeah, yeah. "Let's see him do it against a bunch of starters, then come talk to me." Come on. Look at this dude. He's SPECIAL. That whole eye test thing is real. Willis passes it. If you don't think he does I don't know what to tell you.

The Patrick Mahomes-esque arm angles have become too much of a running theme this preseason for Willis to be written off as a fluke mixtape.

Between the charisma with which he carries himself and the unreal ceiling Willis has as a dual-threat quarterback, you gotta think the Titans got a real steal in the draft. Incumbent starter Ryan Tannehill is definitely the guy in 2022. No one's questioning that. However, as excellent of an athlete as Tannehill is — he played wide receiver for a time in college, after all — he doesn't that extra gear Willis does.

We won't see Willis much during the regular season — save for some potential red zone rushing subpackages — as long as Tannehill is playing at a high level. I'm choosing to enjoy the thrill of watching him while we still can!
