"Scott Fawcett is not a paid member of my team. I in no way condone or support anything that was said in those tweets. I personally reached out to Dan Hicks and Brad Faxon and echoed that I don't condone what he said. Any interviews he's given have been unauthorized. He has tried to reach out to me and I have not spoken to him. I'm thankful to him for everything he helped me with in the ups and downs in junior golf but those statements are not a reflection of my values or me."

Yeah, um, good call here. In case you missed it, Will Zalatoris' mentor/former caddie/DECADE golf coaching system founder Scott Fawcett put the pedal through the floor straight to Crazytown — did not pass Go; did not collect $200 — after Willy Z's breakthrough win at the FedEx St. Jude Championship last Sunday. Justin Thomas captured a couple of Fawcett's colorful tweets and called him out after he attacked Dan Hicks and Brad Faxon:

UPDATE: Fawcett has responded and well…eh.

Willy Z doesn't need this type of toxic shit in his life. Let Fawcett go back to mentoring tools like Bryson DeChambeau and whoever else. Good on Zalatoris not coming to his defense. No room in the game for someone who's, quite frankly, this fuckin' weird. Just seems kinda sad really. A guy who is addicted to that, "I HAVE TO BE RIGHT!" mindset who claims to have a catch-all, universal answer for everything in golf.

I don't have much else to add. Better to focus on the breakout superstar that is Will Zalatoris because damn, what a stud. Still happy that Zally finally got that elusive first PGA Tour victory. Given his multiple close calls at majors so far and how flat-out talented he is as a ball-striker, I imagine the floodgates will open and he'll start racking up more hardware than he'll know what to do with in the next few years. A green jacket, or at least a major trophy, may very well be in the not-so-distant future.
