Padres Players Along With GM AJ Preller Are Rightfully Furious With Fernando Tatis Jr. And Did Not Hold Back When Talking About His Steroid Suspension

I was wondering what some of the quotes were going to look like from the Padres front office as well as San Diego players reacting to Fernando Tatis Jr. being suspended for steroids. Turns out they're pissed the fuck off and no one more than GM AJ Preller

When your franchise player gets into multiple motorcycle accidents and is caught using steroids before the age of 24 I'd say anger is the proper response for their actions. Preller is MAD and rightfully so. You gotta appreciate how candid he's being there since he easily coulda given a bullshit response while handling it privately.

The Padres currently hold a 2 game lead over the final wild card spot in the National League. Their GM just went all in and traded for Juan Soto as well as Josh Bell and Brandon Drury. Those guys were all expecting Fernando to return in a few weeks to full solidify one of the more dangerous lineups in all of baseball. His teammates did not take kindly to the news either.

Preller also said during a radio interview that Tatis hopped on a commercial flight back to San Diego yesterday on his own without telling any coaches from Frisco, the minor league team he was rehabbing with in Texas. I'm sure he was pissed and embarrassed, but you gotta handle yourself better than that dude.

Also the ringworm excuse? Not sure anyone is buying that considering he was taking anabolic steroids. Clearly didn't think through the excuse there did you Nando?

So he's a cheater, liar, and a dumbass. The trifecta!

As you begin to realize the immaturity on Tatis you have to think back to that dugout screaming incident from last September with Machado. The origin of this was Fernando arguing balls and strikes with the umpire after a strikeout. It was September in the middle of a playoff chase and Machado was furious that Tatis was risking being ejected and hurting the team over something that he should have moved on from for the sake of the team.

What do all these things point to? A selfish, immature 23 year old who just doesn't get it. The same 23 year old who has $335 million left on his deal. If he doesn't change his tune quickly the Padres could easily get out of that contract and just move on. Would take some balls given how talented this dude is, but that clubhouse feels betrayed and let down right now. You can see it with everyone's quotes. They've had enough of the bullshit. Fernando Tatis Jr. has to grow the fuck up and quickly.

Well anyways, see you out there for Fernando Tatis Jr. bobblehead day next month!
