Giancarlo Esposito Wants To Play Professor X In The MCU And He's Met With Marvel Studios About It!

Giancarlo Esposito (aka Gus Fring) did a panel at a con over the weekend where he revealed that he's been in talks with Marvel Studios about characters like Professor X, Magneto, Doctor Doom, and more - but his heart is really set on playing Charles Xavier in the Marvel Cinematic Universe right now. So much so that he just put it out there into the universe and made this info public in hopes to will it into existence!

One of my favorite things about the MCU behind-the-scenes is how passionate a lot of actors are about their roles/characters, and I feel that definitely shines through in some performances more than others. If an actor the level of Giancarlo Esposito is this into the idea of joining the fold as Charles Xavier, I think you have to give it to him.

Esposito also casually mentioned talks of "Doctor Freeze" as well, which I assume means him potentially playing Mr Freeze in the sequel to 'The Batman'? If so, count me in on that as well. I think Giancarlo Esposito, Christoph Waltz, or former Alfred actor Jeremy Irons would all make for a perfect Victor Fries.

It was a big weekend for nerd news across the board, as Rosario Dawson also might've accidentally revealed that The Punisher is coming back....

She's since walked back this comment, saying she got false info from a fan at a signing....

….but I don't know if I'm buying that. We've got D23 on the horizon, and with all of the buzz around Charlie Cox coming back as Daredevil, I think Rosario may just be trying to a cover up for spoiling that Jon Bernthal is coming back as Frank Castle. I think the timing just makes too much sense.
