Cardinals GM Steve Keim Absolutely Buried The Oakland A's When Kyler Murray Was Asked About Playing Baseball Again
God dammit I love the A's catching a cross-sport direct shot for running their team like a bunch of cheap dickheads. Yeah yeah yeahhhhh, I know that Billy Beane will have Oakland back in the playoffs in a few years with like the 5th lowest payroll running some sort of Moneyball wizardry.
But in the meantime, shit like this patently absurd.
Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the hell out of the A's gutting their 86-76 team from last year to become a bottom dwelling .347 team in dead last of the entire American League considering it helped my team get Chris Bassit, Mark Canha, AND Starling Marte. But having to hear these billionaire baseball owners cry poverty while kicking and screaming about someone like Steve Cohen buying the Mets is so fucked.
A quick reminder of who owns the Oakland A's via a quick Google search.
Then again, the A's were involved in the most viral non-Juan Soto story of the entire All-Star Break.
However, I don't think this falls into the "All publicity is good publicity" bucket.
Again, I'm not asking a baseball team to stop a baseball player that also plays quarterback from declaring for the NFL Draft knowing he was pretty much a lock to be the number 1 pick. I'm just asking them to quit being fucking jokes to every other team from every other sport. Don't do it for me, Mr. Big Market Mets fan. Do it for Shawn Lynch!
