The Introvert Dog Park Meetup In Sweden Looked Like The Pet Event Of The Year

Dogs are the fucking best. If you disagree you're probably a serial killer. Or allergic.

These images of all of these dogs standing still in this park are amazing. You can just tell from the look on some of their faces that they couldn't be more miserable.

Like this little guy-

That's the face that screams "get me the hell out of here. Whatever I did, I'm sorry!"

Also, I hate to break it to these dog owners who think they bought or adopted a canine that was just psychologically inclined to wanting to be alone, but it doesn't work like that.

Nope.

Dogs are pack animals. The term alpha applies to the leader, who exerts dominance and sets the tone. The rest of the pack falls in line.

Science even says so.

Fox News - When humans go through big changes in life, their personality traits can change. We found that this also happens with dogs — and to a surprisingly large degree,” William Chopik, a professor of psychology at MSU and the study’s lead author, said in a 2019 statement. “We expected the dogs’ personalities to be fairly stable because they don’t have the wild lifestyle changes humans do, but they actually change a lot. We uncovered similarities to their owners, the optimal time for training and even a time in their lives that they can get more aggressive toward other animals," he continued.

Chopik’s research found that people who were extroverted scored their dogs as being more excitable and active, while owners who felt more negatively about their pets rated them as being more fearful, less active, and less responsive to training. People who ranked themselves as agreeable also rated their canines as less fearful and aggressive to other people and animals, the survey found.

Owners whose dogs were better trained, more active, and more excitable reported feeling happiest about their relationships with their canines, as well.

So the theory that people look like their dogs (one that I swear by), can now be joined by belief that people's dogs adopt their demeanor. So to all those nice and polite Swedish people who took part in this nice awkward day at the park with their pets, stop being so fucking weird and uncomfortable outside of your house, and your weird dogs will too.

p.s. - The "This could have been an email" line was A+

p.p.s. - For my Chicagoans, imagine taking one of these poor pups to Wiggley Field? I'd charge you with animal abuse for the trauma that would cause. Place is like fucking Ohare Airport the day before Thanksgiving for dogs. A hundred dogs, yipped out of their minds, running around like crazy. The El tracks right above head, going by every 7 minutes rumbling loud as fuck. Dog owners who really shouldn't be dog owners trying to control their pet after having their head buried in their phone for the last 20 minutes while it went around humping every dog and human leg in the park because it was just happy to finally be outside for once. Good times.

(Sidebar- I had a buddy who was one of those asshole "anti-dog" people because he'd grown up allergic to them his entire life and his parents never let him have any pets as a kid. Super weird around dogs anytime he'd come by my house or a friends with one to visit. He had two kids a few years ago and they got to the age where they pressured him and his wife non-stop for one. They did research and found that those poodle cross-breeds that are super popular now are hypo-allergenic so he had no more excuses. He finally caved one Christmas and the girls couldn't have been happier. Fast forward to today and they have two of the dogs and he's the biggest dog lover in the world now. Treats them like princesses, walks them everywhere, takes them everywhere. It's hilarious.)
