Rico Recommendations - If You Haven't Watched "The Bear" Yet , What Are You Waiting For ?

Variety- Order up: FX is moving forward with a second season of “The Bear.” The renewal comes almost one month after the premiere of the series, which debuted all eight episodes of its first season on June 23. “The Bear” is available to stream on Hulu.

“’The Bear’ has exceeded our wildest creative, critical and commercial expectations,” said FX Entertainment president Eric Schrier in a statement announcing the second season order. “We can’t wait to get to work on Season 2.”

Editor's Note: We have dueling blogs recommending "The Bear" from Rico and Dante that were submitted around the same time. So since Barstool is a democracy, we are publishing both at the same time and letting the readers decide which to choose. I guess regardless who gets more clicks or positive comments in this unofficial blog off, the real winner will be "The Bear" for apparently good enough for two recommendation blogs out of the blue on the same day

I'm never the first person to be on a TV show that flies under the radar, gets little publicity and turns out to be extremely well liked but I feel like I was with The Bear. It's streaming on FX On Hulu and the premise is Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto moves back home to take over the family Italian beef sandwich place  in Chicago after the death of his brother. I was sold the minute I saw the trailer and the lead was Jeremy Allan White who I loved on Shameless as Lip.

I described the pilot as the fastest speed of any television show I have ever seen and it takes off from there. The characters are interesting, John Bernthal has a small role but a good role, and Jeremy Allan White is clicking on all cylinders. It's 8 episodes at a half hour (or shorter) , moves fast and is worth watching if you like the story of a guy who's been through some shit trying to hold it all together.

It just got renewed for Season 2 and people seem to love it. I can't recommend it enough.
