THE BLACKHAWKS TRADE KIRBY DACH TO THE MONTREAL CANADIENS

Life comes at you fast. What a difference a year makes. 

13th overall and a pick at the top of the 3rd round for Dach. The streak for Bowman continues. ZERO first round picks made it to their 2nd contract with Chicago and you can add 1st round talents in Panarin and Saad to that list. It is the most astounding record of all time.

Regarding the trade itself...meh. I thought it might be more prudent to give Dach a chance with Richardson to develop in a real way with less pressure on him coming in at 18 years old. The new regime obviously had their mind made up about Dach though or at least how Dach fits into their plans.

I think he will do well in Montreal. He is still a 6'4 right shot center who skates well and has some skill. I think he is the classic case of a guy needing a change of scenery. I thought maybe the scenery would've changed around him enough Chicago to accomplish that, but I guess not.
