There Is A Movie Scene So Bad It Pains Me 15 Years Later

Tobey Maguire turns 47 today. I really have no issue with him , he's one of those actors you don't plan to go see headline a movie but also don't mind if he's in. He's just kind of there. No harm no foul.

He did used to headline a major franchise in Spiderman. I was in no form a comic book person, or plan to be. I did however like tons of other people help break the opening weekend box office record by seeing Spiderman in a theater. Saw the 2nd one, and the 3rd.

There is a scene in 3rd movie that I distinctly remember wanting to walk out. It's so bad it pained me. I am unfamiliar with the exact editing of movies and scripts and "final cut" and executive producers etc. But how on God's green earth a scene so bad gets past all those people to say "yeah that can stay." No one in a meeting said, "Hey maybe we reconsider this?"

It's actually so bad when I scroll past the movie on the guide I tune in to rewatch it . I need to see if there's something I missed in theaters, or the handful of times I've watched it since. Could it be me ? Could I be wrong, and then every time I come back to the conclusion that I am in fact not wrong, it's one of the worst scenes in history, and I still get angry every time I watch it.

There's often criticism of the running scene in Forrest Gump being too long, but that's still Forrest Gump. This is a bad scene in a not so great movie. I'm still amazed it got made, yet every time it's on I watch because I can't stop marveling at how bad it is.

Maybe one day there will be a supercut of horrific movie scenes as a full length feature film. I have no doubt in my mind, this will have a place.

Feel free to tweet at me with your worst scenes, I look forward to hate watching them as much as I hate watching this one.
