Watch This When You're High - The Navy's "Area 51", Atlantic Undersea Test And Evaluation Centre (AUTEC)

Earlier today I blogged the story about Bill Clinton claiming he sent special agents to Area 51 to determine once and for all if we had aliens there... and them coming up dry.

Phil R.messaged me telling me to check out the "underwater area 51 in the Bahamas." I'd never heard of this before and it seems pretty interesting.

Express.co.uk - The US Airforce is well known for maintaining a top-secret base for testing cutting-edge tech at Area 51 in the Nevada desert.

Many may not know, however, how the Navy boasts its own version of Area 51.

This is officially known as the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Centre (AUTEC).

A statement on the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA): “AUTEC provides instrumented operational areas in a real world environment to satisfy research, development, test and evaluation requirements and operational performance assessment of war fighter readiness in support of the full spectrum of maritime warfare.

AUTEC is situated on the Andros Island in the Bahamas.

The US Navy began developing the secretive base in 1964.

This was used to test underwater vehicles, weapons and systems.

Conspiracy theorists claim there have been several strange reports of UFO activity surrounding the base.

Such widely-unsubstantiated reports include claims of aliens working with Navy personnel in their deep underwater base at the tip of the Bermuda Triangle in one of the deepest trenches in the ocean.

The most bizarre rumours include time travel experiments at that base.

Keep the suggestions coming. Keep them classy. No butt stuff.
