Pete Mackanin Deserves To Be The Phillies Full-Time Manager

Foot, meet ground. I’m offically all-in on this old cat. Why? Well, other than him leading this clan of bums to a MLB best 16-5 since the All-Star Break, a number of reasons. This team is finally fun to watch again and it can be directly attributed to Pete Mackanin’s laid back yet direct managerial style with the players. This guy is winning with rookies Aaron Nola, Obdula Herrera and Maikel Franco playing like seasoned vets. Certified losers Jerome Williams and Dominic Brown are all of a sudden performing like bats out of hell. Even Jeff Franceour not only still has a pulse but is mashing the dick off the ball. Seriously, Mackanin has taken this squad full of “Who are these fucking guys?” and have them playing some pretty damn good baseball. Just imagine if they were just bad instead of historically SHIT in the first half of the season by going 30 games under .500 (How a team can go 16-5 and still be 22 games under water at 45-67 is beyond me). We could be talking playoffs right now.
