I Think It's Weird To Want A Football Signed By Non Football Players, Actually I Think It's Extremely Stupid

TMZ Sports has learned ... a pigskin that Eminem, Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar and Anderson .Paak all signed following their epic show at the event in L.A. has just hit the block at Heritage Auctions. And, according to experts, it could be a bargain for a potential buyer ... as it's expected to fetch just around $1,500!!

Earlier in this article, TMZ mentions that this is "one of the coolest pieces of Super Bowl LVI memorabilia you can own -- a ball signed by the Big Game's halftime show performers!!! " I have a real hard time believing that and am taking a stance that wanting to own a football signed by non football players is not only weird it is ridiculously stupid.

Don't get me wrong. If there was a poster, a photo, a piece of the stage, a microphone, basically anything else that was signed by these performers I would agree it's a very cool piece of memorabilia for your fan cave, basement, garage or collection. I actually embrace weird memorabilia, or things close to your heart in sports etc. (My last three won ebay items are a signed picture of Bryce and Homer Drew after Valpo's tournament upset over Ole Miss, a Starting Lineup Vladimir Guerrero figure because I went to his games on vacation near Hershey Park, and a Cole McDonald Hawaii photo because he won me money 3-4 years ago.) So I totally understand the weirdness of sports collectibles and that ones close to your heart should be embraced, however I draw the line on a football signed by musicians. I can't really understand why anyone would want that.

I'll leave you with this. Imagine you come over to your friend's basement in a new house he bought to watch the games. He just got a few new recliners , big tv, has the mini fridge etc. You are ready to go. He also has a cool collection of sports memorabilia on the walls. Signed jerseys, photos etc. He takes you on a walk around the basement and shows you some of them. The first is a signed batting helmet by Chef Gordon Ramsey, the next is a Knicks jersey signed by James Cameron and the last is a pylon signed by Selena Gomez. Wouldn't you ask your friend what the connection is there ? Now I'm being a little extreme in the sense that Dr.Dre, Mary J, Em and Snoop all performed at the Super Bowl so there's a mild connection, but not much more than that. I stand by having a football signed by musicians is stupid.

Am I alone here or do people agree ? Vote on the poll
