Flashback Friday: MVP Baseball 2005 Is One Of The Greatest Sport Video Games Of All Time

Here's your first edition of Flashback Friday where we'll be taking a trip down memory lane every Friday to take a look back at some of the best (or worst) video games of all time.

We're kicking it off with a bang and talking about one of the best sports video games of all time: MVP Baseball 2005. Everybody absolutely loved this game. The soundtrack, the mini-games, Owner's mode and one of the best rosters in MLB history. The game simply had it all, while perfecting baseball mechanics in a video game.

It's Brandon Walker's favorite video game of all time and if BFW likes something, you know it's gotta be good.

Every year that baseball season roles around, I always wish modern MLB games had an Owner's mode similar to MVP Baseball 2005. Diamond Dynasty is probably the closest thing we'll ever get, but it doesn't do it for me. There was a ton of enjoyment in not only crafting a winning team, but also trying to manage the stadium like a true owner by worrying about revenue and costs. It gave that full sense of immersion that we haven't seen since. Even though it was virtually impossible to have a positive cash flowing organization, the gist of the game mode was second to none.

Current-day MLB The Show has been making some phenomenal strides in the past few years by really focusing on Diamond Dynasty, being able for purchase on the Xbox and with the addition of cross-platform. However, I'd love to see them try their hands with an Owner's mode.
