There's A Great New Red Hot Chili Peppers Album Out Right Now

Last Friday, the Red Hot Chili Peppers put out their first album in 6 years (the first in 16 years with guitarist John Frusciante) entitled 'Unlimited Love' - and honestly, it's pretty fuckin awesome.

Longtime collaborator Rick Rubin is back as the producer of this one, and it sounds like the five of these guys picked up right where they left off on 2006's 'Stadium Arcadium' - they didn't try to reinvent the wheel, they just got back to the basics of their funk rock in the best way possible.

I actually thought Josh Klinghoffer was a great replacement for Frusciante for the decade-plus he was in the band, but there's just something so special about Frusciante's tone/shredding that can't be replicated. It's as instantly recognizable as the tones of Hendrix and Clapton for me at this point; you could truly hear him play one note and go, "Oh that's John Frusciante."

Just seeing them playing together again is awesome, too! I mean c'mon - these are living legends in rock n' roll….

There's some amazing stadium rock on this album, tons of catchy ass funk (Aquatic Mouth Dance has been stuck in my head for days), and even some dreamy/floaty tracks like 'Not The One'….

There's 17 tracks total across 'Unlimited Love' and it clocks in at just over an hour and ten minutes, so it's a lengthy listen by today's standards - but well worth giving a spin in my opinion. Check it out.

Here's a few great non-singles to sell you on the record if you're not sold yet….
