WATCH: Steve-O And Preston Lacy Sit Down To Talk About How Jackass Royally Screwed Them Over During The Beginning Of Their Careers

Good for these guys. At least they can laugh about it. For those of you who didn't watch the clip, Steve-O, Preston, and the rest of the cast basically didn't get paid for the first season of Jackass. The only people who did were Johnny Knoxville and Bam Margera. Everyone else was making around $250 per stunt. Which on paper doesn't sound bad, but in reality is horrendous considering the success of the show. That and they were risking some serious bodily injury every time the cameras turned on. The worst part of the whole thing is that Preston actually got paid LESS for the second season - $100 per stunt. Granted all's well that ends well but still, talk about a scumbag move from MTV.

The entire interview between these two was fascinating. Especially when Preston started talking about how he wound up on the show.  Here's that clip...

Long story short is that he met Knoxville while working a job hauling laundry equipment around Los Angeles. Knoxville told him about a show he was working on, Preston pitched him some ideas, and the rest is history.

It's funny how things work out. I'm thirty-two years old now and 90% of the people I came up with in New York have given up and gone home. But that 10% who stuck with it, whether it be comedians, actors, "influencers" etc., have found success. It just takes balls. Balls, time, and a tremendous amount of hard work. There are some comedians I remember seeing at open mics who are now getting Netflix specials and it blows my mind. I imagine Preston and Steve-O feel the same way. They went from odd job, literal circus folk to fucking movie stars. Insane. Let this interview serve as a reminder to everyone that things don't happen over night. Now here's a clip of Preston's favorite stunt ever. Enjoy…
