Joe Burrow Showed He's An Elite Recruiter By Having La'el Collins Over For Cupcakes And Crackers To Help Convince Him To Join The Bengals

This is just a smart move by Joe Burrow. He knows they needed offensive line help, so what do you do? Convince an offensive lineman to join your team by giving him some cupcakes and crackers. Not sure how the crackers play, unless they are from Skyline and you get a little Skyline hot sauce. That's a delicacy here. But cupcakes? Cupcakes are flat out delicious. I've always been a sucker for those small ones that you can get a grocery store. You know the ones I'm talking about, vanilla and chocolate with some sprinkles, sold in like 10-12 packs and always in the front of the grocery store. Those things are delicious despite being like $4.

But all cupcakes are delicious. There are plenty of different varieties now too. It's almost intimidating, like donuts. You go to a donut shop now and you can get Fruity Pebbles on them, Oreos, a million different flavors. Sure it's nice but part of me misses the old days when you go in and get the standard three flavors with sprinkles. Pink with sprinkles is elite. Some powdered donuts, jelly donuts, glazed donuts and a Boston Cream. That was it. Cupcakes were like that too. Chocolate or vanilla was basically it.

But this is the move that all quarterbacks should use. If you're signing a lineman, you treat them right. Take them to dinner, invite them back to your house for some treats. It's the perfect play. Every single person in the world can remember a good dessert. We've also been in this situation at some point before. Might be with a friend or a business associate. You sort of are hesitant to spend more time and mostly just want to go home. But you eat and next thing you know you're best friends.

So a sincere congrats to the Bengals. They got the help they needed and more importantly Joe Burrow is showing vet signs on how to recruit.
