The Euphoria star, 24, and boyfriend Jonathan Davino are engaged, PEOPLE has confirmed.

News of their engagement comes after the actress was pictured wearing a diamond ring on her left ring finger during a Feb. 28 outing in Los Angeles.

Sweeney, who plays Cassie Howard on the HBO hit series, has been linked to Davino, 37, since 2018. (They were first photographed together in October 2018.) Davino's family owns a 14th Round and Finalbell, a device technology and packaging company.

I'm treating this story as both good and bad news. Let's start with the bad and get that out of the way. We lost another one folks, Sydney Sweeney is off the market. I know lots of us put in good effort here to end up with her, but to no avail.

Better luck next time guys and girls.

The good news is the story around who she's engaged to. Jonathan Davino. Ring a bell?

Nope, you know why? He's a completely normal, average dude from Chicago who doesn't even have a public social media. Imagine dating Sydney Sweeney and not flaunting that all over Instagram to brag to the world? Not this guy, he's too busy being with Sydney Sweeney. His family owns an Italian restaurant in the Windy City called Pompei (looks like it may be a chain). I'm sure it's delicious, but that's his only claim to fame. I made sure to ask Fran if I was missing anything on him, but she told me nope, just a normal fella that attracted her eye.

A little while back Sweeney explained why she refuses to get involved with people in the entertainment business.

"I don't date people in the spotlight," she told the outlet. "I don't date actors or musicians or anyone in entertainment because I can just be normal Syd that way and it's easiest. I have a great support system." I have people who will battle for me and allow me to be on the pedestal and shine without making me feel like, 'Oh no, I'm shining too bright and I need to step back.' "

Good on you Sydney Sweeney for giving the common man a real shot. We're actual people too! The world needs more Sydney Sweeneys and less of everyone else in Hollywood for many reasons, but this one especially.

To Jonathan Davino, congrats to you sir. Damn you to hell, but I can do nothing but tip my cap.
