Kaskade and Deadmau5 Announce New Collaborative Project, "Kx5", Along With First Single, and Upcoming Set At EDC Vegas
EDM Identity - Kaskade and deadmau5 have both created immense legacies for themselves in the dance music scene. From numerous hit tracks found within their vast discographies and shows that have left crowds stunned to fostering future talent in the scene on their labels, mau5trap and Arkade, it seems there’s nothing that can stop either of them. But when these two come together to produce music, some serious magic happens.
Turn back the clock to 2008 and you’ll find Kaskade’s beloved album Strobelight Seduction. Within its tracklist were the first two times that these two legends in the scene collaborated on “Move For Me” and “I Remember.” Both became immediate hits after being released and won over the hearts and minds of both fanbases who began to crave more. That craving for new music from Kaskade and deadmau5 was briefly filled in 2016 when the two released “Beneath With Me” with Skylar Grey, but the insatiable appetite from fans continued on.
Paired with the reveal of Kx5 is the news of the duo’s first track together under the alias, “Escape,” which will see them team up with Hayla and is due out on March 11. Those who tuned in to their Instagram Live earlier today were treated to a taste of what’s to come with the full release, along with the even bigger announcement that the project will debut at EDC Las Vegas this year.
MASSIVE news in the electronic music world.
Two of the biggest names in the business teaming up after a loooooooong, drawn-out dick tease.
Rumors began swirling of these two teaming up back in 2009, after their release "I Remember" crushed.
Fast forward to 2021, when Kaskade opened up SoFi Stadium in LA (with opener and friend of the program 3lau). Deadmau5 showed up and played right before Kaskade went on and then again in a B2B with Kaskade at the end of his set.
At the end of the show, a "K5" image flashed on the screen when Deadmau5 joined Kaskade on stage.
Then, this past weekend, they both took to social media to tease fans that something special was brewing – and today they dropped the huge news that they’re launching the collaborative project called "Kx5."
As well as a couple of pre-saves
For anybody that's a fan of EDM, or follows the genre, you know this is fucking huge news.
The fact these two will headline EDC Las Vegas makes that a must-see show.
