LSU Women's Basketball Coach Kim Mulkey Took an Unprovoked KILL SHOT at Sam Ehlinger
Kim Mulkey has done an unbelievable job in her first year as LSU's women's basketball coach. The Tigers went from a 9-13 record in 2020-21 to a 23-4 regular season and a No. 2 seed in the SEC Tournament this year. But with the most important part of the season still ahead, Mulkey wants to make sure her team doesn't get too full of itself just yet.
To illustrate that point, she absolutely eviscerated former Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger, who you may remember exclaimed, "We're baaaaaaaaaack," in the most annoying fashion possible after the 2018 Sugar Bowl. The Longhorns went 8-5 the following season.
Even though he brought it on himself, you have to feel for Sam. He has become the poster child for undeserved and embarrassing confidence to such a point that coaches in other sports are still using him as an example for something he said three years ago. Tough scenes.
Mulkey is right, though. You can't pull that nonsense and then lose five games the next season. Kobe wouldn't even smile up 2-0 in the 2009 NBA Finals and Ehlinger was ready to get his 2019 national championship ring a year in advance. Don't bring any undue pressure upon yourself, especially in a way that makes you look extremely corny and unlikable.
I want to know who else Mulkey is flaming to her team behind closed doors. If this is what she's willing to say in a press conference, I guarantee she's murdering plenty of other public figures when there isn't a microphone around.
