A Pair Of Disgruntled Veterans Try To Get Theirs In The First Trailer For 'The Contractor'
James Harper, who is involuntarily discharged from the U.S. Special Forces, joined a private contracting organization alongside his best friend and under the command of a fellow veteran in order to support his family. Overseas on a covert mission, Harper must evade those trying to kill him while making his way back home.
I am all in on this movie and it's for one huge reason: I trust the Pine-Foster combo. Why? Because of a little movie called 'Hell or High Water'. In that movie, they play actual brothers, with Pine doing so only to stop his family ranch from being foreclosed on. In THIS movie, they play metaphorical brothers, with Pine doing so only to pay for his family's house. The only difference here is that this movie will definitely be worse and it involves a bio weapon. By the way, 'Hell or High Water' is must-watch and currently streaming on Netflix.
I don't think this movie is going to be great and it might not even be good. But it should satisfy the soft part of our brains that loves seeing a bunch of guys shooting their way through assassins in Europe. How could you hate that!
Beyond fitting into that genre, I am also adding this movie into the (Disgruntled veterans pulling off a heist) cinematic universe which already includes Triple Frontier, Wrath of Man, Den of Thieves, Da 5 Bloods, The Kill Point, Dead Presidents, Triple 9, The Rock, Ronin, Logan Lucky*, and more.
This is directed by Tarik Saleh(Westworld) and written by J.P. Davis(Fighting Tommy Riley).
