Sony Bought Bungie For $3.6 BILLION And Completely Shakes Up The Gaming World

POWER MOVES BABY!

Sony answers Microsoft and buys Bungie for $3.6 BILLION! There has been a LOT of moves lately in the gaming industry that have completely blown my mind and this one is right up there.

Previously, Microsoft purchased Activision Blizzard for $68.7 BILLION, and with that, it appeared that Microsoft was winning the next-gen console war. Activision Blizzard is the development studio of World of Warcraft, Candy Crush, Call of Duty, Overwatch and more. Imagine all the exclusives that go along with this acquisition?

In a previous Meta Man video, I publicly stated that Xbox was officially winning the console wars with this acquisition.

But now, I may have to re-think my original statement. Yes, Bungie isn't nearly the size of Activision Blizzard, however, Destiny 1 + 2 and the previous Halo titles have made massive impacts on the gaming community. I gave up on Destiny 2 a lot ass time ago because the game was a complete flop upon release. Granted, now I've heard that D2 is as addicting as D1, but the ship has sailed long ago for Captain MRags.

Bungie is famous for developing the OG Halo titles, however Microsoft may own the rights to said former Halo titles. If this is the case, than really Playstation only gains access to the Destiny universe (which is still solid).

The advantage lies with Xbox Series X, but this acquisition is exciting for Playstation users.
