Crime Of The Century: English Police Are On The Hunt For A Guy Who Goes To The Same House Every Thursday And Rings The Doorbell At 2am

[Sun] - COPS are hunting a mystery man who rings a couple's doorbell every Thursday between 2am and 4am.  CCTV footage of the unidentified person has been shared by officers in Stroud, Gloucestershire.

Police said the man has been ringing the bell between 2am and 4am at least three times a month.

He often knocks repeatedly on Thursdays and comes back more than once on some nights.

I don't want to sound hyperbolic here but this is one of the worst things I've ever read. Can you imagine the anxiety of a Thursday where you're sitting there getting ready for bed knowing there's going to be a doorbell ring at 2am? Fuck that. I'd be on high alert every night, rarely sleeping. And if you have a dog or a kid? Good luck. You're never sleeping again. You gotta move. Only solution, you gotta move. That or, you know, the cops could just kind of hang out in the area on a Thursday between 2-4am. Seems like a simple solution on this hunt. Probably where I'd start, but I'm just a blogger.

I will say the oldest I ever feel is when someone rings the doorbell. I grew up in the era where you rang doorbells and it was normal. Now someone rings the doorbell? I'm confused. I freak out a little bit. Why would someone ring the doorbell. If it's a friend they know to just walk in and I know what time they are coming. FedEx/Amazon/mailman? Just put the package down. I work from home, I'll get it. It's a whole process when the doorbell rings now. The dog barks, my son wants to go answer the door and gets upset when it's not a friend. The madness needs to stop.

And I know, we all did Ding Dong Ditch. We were stupid, like all kids. Sure it may have made us laugh our asses off as you hide and watch the person confused. It's that simple. That might be peak 90s though. Late night hijinks when you're like 11 years old or so.

I need to know the whole backstory with this guy though. Why this house? Does he have a vendetta against the couple? Could it be an ex-boyfriend? Like I said, this is a heinous crime. It's just cruel. That's the only way I can describe it. Just also seems like a simple solution. I know I'm not a Big Cat level of man hunting, but I'd start with someone in the area on a Thursday. Also picking Thursday is the real dagger. Just ruining your weekend with a shitty Friday.
