DJ Pauly D Is Officially The New York Rangers' Good Luck Charm & Should Be Treated As Such
Madison Square Garden was absolutely BUZZING last night. The Rangers were on national television against one of the best teams in the league in the Toronto Maple Leafs. We had probably the best national anthem at the Garden since the great John Amirante by 2020 grammy-winning Opera dude John Brancy. If im the New York Rangers I am INSTANTLY in contact with him to be our anthem guy for years to come. Guy fucking killed it.
Yet as hyped up as the crowd was for puck drop we could not have been deteriorated any quicker after 2 Leafs goals in the first 3 minutes of the game. When you look up worst starts in the dictionary you're gonna see this and the Sixers 15'-16' start of the season. Just gross. Yet there was still a palpable energy feeding through Madison Square Garden as the intermission horn hit and the Rangers were down 3-1. Why you ask? Because DJ Pauly Delvecchio from the Jersey Shore was performing one of his world famous sets at intermission.
If you were to tell the 15-year-old version of myself that he'd one day be witnessing DJ Pauly D perform at Rangers intermission (with Vinny and Nikki from the iconic television show Double Shot At Love in attendance as well) you could've told me I could die right there and go to heaven. And as if fist pumping the night away and by night away I mean the 10-15 minute set wasn't good enough, you know what was even better? That DJ Pauly D is now the New York Rangers good luck charm because they happened to score 5 unanswered goals to win the game against the big bad Maple Leafs 6-3.
There's no denying that Pre-Pauly D the Rangers were down on goals 3-1 and Post-Pauly D they were 5-0 on goals scored. If that momentum continues to (probably) the best team in hockey arena tomorrow night then who knows…DJ Pauly D just may have to become our official mascot. I mean we don't ACTUALLY have a mascot after all right? CUE THE NEWEST NEW YORK RANGERS VICTORY SONG.
