The First Trailer For Taika Waititi's Pirate Dark Comedy Series Is Here And I Am BUTTERED UP

Semi-based on the story of Stede Bonnet, an aristocrat who abandons his life to become a pirate.

This looks fun as all hell. As someone who was not really a pirate person outside of really liking the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie, I have been recently suprised by the good pirate content there is. I found the Black Flag AC game to be really fun, but I was really hooked in by the series 'Black Sails'. It is seriously one of the best shows i have ever watched in my life and I highly recommend any/every one of you to check it out on hulu. Anyway, I really like this concept. Throwing a posh aristocrat into the world of alpha males almost feels like a reverse Ted Lasso. I like the supporting cast and I find Rhys Darby to be absolutely hilarious and a perfect lead for this show.

More importantly than the cast, I really trust the mind behind it in Taika Waititi. The man just doesn't miss!

In addition to his incredible movie resume, he was also producer/writer/director on great shows like 'Flight of the Conchords', the 'What We Do in the Shadows' series, 'Wellington Paranormal', 'The Mandalorian', and 'Reservation Dogs'. I'm pumped up for this and you should be too.

It stars Rhys Darby and Waititi(What We Do In the Shadows), Kristian Nairn and Joel Fry(Game of Thrones), Rory Kinnear(The New James Bond movies), Ewen Bremmer(Trainspotting, Black Hawk Down) and guest stars Leslie Jones, Nat Faxon and Fred Armisen.
