The Minnesota Twins Have Signed 16-Year-Old Bryan Acuña, Whose Swing Looks Identical to His Brother's

I am beside myself. The Atlanta Braves knew there was a prospect out there who grew up with the best player in baseball and whose swing looks like it was developed in a lab to emulate that guy and they let him sign with the Minnesota Twins for $650,000.

When you've gotten to watch Ronald Acuña Jr. destroy Major League pitching at historic level for the first four years of his career and you find out there's another Acuña available, you pay whatever it takes to make sure he signs with you. The Braves are paying Manny Piña $3.5 million in 2022 and we couldn't spare $750,000 to make sure we have both Acuñas? I feel like those resources could have been allocated more effectively.

Congratulations to the Twins, though. I'd bet on any 16-year-old whose swing looks exactly like one of the best hitters in baseball, who just so happens to be his brother.

I hope the feeling of being 2021 World Champions lasts us through the illustrious career of Bryan Acuña.
