Proof The AP Top-25 Poll Is Pointless: Someone Voted 'Georgia' In The Top-5 Thinking They Were Gonzaga

If you've read me you know what I think of the AP Top-25. It's made up of people who don't watch enough of the sport, are too old to comprehend basic things like team names and with advanced stats it's pointless. Yet people still want to put that little number next to a team name and yell about how teams are ranked and all that stuff. Fine. Just get people who actually watch games to do it. At the minimum get people who can understand the difference between Gonzaga and Georgia. Feels like you can pretty easily catch that error whether it's selecting teams electronically, hand writing them, etc.

Just to clarify, Gonzaga is 11-2, the team that made the national title game last year and pretty well known. Georgia is coached by this guy.

Georgia is 5-8 and is in fact, bad.

My final solution is simple. Let me help run the AP poll. It's 2022. I promise to only get people who are willing to stay up late and search for random channels to find an important WAC game. I do still miss the old Versus channel where the select few of us actually got it and were able to watch Kawhi vs Jimmer. I also promise to only let people vote who are willing to admit they have a favorite team. I don't want fake bullshit out there, but I will be testing them.

Congrats to Georgia on their biggest win under Tom Crean, accidentally landing at 30th on the AP poll.
