The Rock Destroyed Vin Diesel For His Desperate Public Plea To Get Him To Return To 'Fast & Furious' That Included Paul Walker And Diesel's Children

The ongoing feud between The Rock and Vin Diesel is one that is extremely ugly and public. It pretty much all stems back to Dwayne Johnson's character Hobbs becoming a bigger and more likable star in the Fast and Furious franchise than Dominic Toretto. Diesel's ego could never move past it and that created this gigantic rift between the two. Last month Vin put out this desperate plea to the Rock that they needed him back for the final film. It was straight up weird.

First of all calling The Rock your little brother is not the way to go if we're trying to mend fences. Was he trying to piss Dwayne off? If I was him I woulda stopped reading right then and there. Then you gotta bring the late Paul Walker into this and mention your children? Million ways to go with that public post and that wasn't it. Well, finally the Rock has responded. Maybe because he's such a nice guy he put everything to the side and decided to come back for one last ride? Not quite.

"I was very surprised by Vin's recent post," said Johnson. "This past June, when Vin and I actually connected not over social media, I told him directly — and privately — that I would not be returning to the franchise. I was firm yet cordial with my words and said that I would always be supportive of the cast and always root for the franchise to be successful, but that there was no chance I would return. I privately spoke with my partners at Universal as well, all of whom were very supportive as they understand the problem."

"I didn't like that he brought up his children in the post, as well as Paul Walker's death. Leave them out of it," Johnson continued. "We had spoken months ago about this and came to a clear understanding. My goal all along was to end my amazing journey with this incredible Fast & Furious franchise with gratitude and grace." There are a couple things that Vin Diesel has impressively gotten the Rock to do here that many cannot. First of all, The Rock seemingly loves everyone and has this image as the friendliest man in the world. You never see a bad interaction with him and someone else EVER. Vin Diesel is the exception it appears. Johnson had no problem calling out that weird Instagram post and publicly rejected his desperate plea to do the final movie. I didn't think this dude had a vengeful, spiteful bone in his body, but boy was I wrong. I'm sure he has his list of people he doesn't care for, but for the most part he keeps that private. For Vin Diesel he broke that rule and told him to fuck off for everyone to see.

Second, you know how hard it is to get The Rock to turn down a movie? I just read today they're getting ready to film Jungle Cruise 2. JUNGLE CRUISE 2!!! That dude will say yes to literally any script you hand him. He hates Vin Diesel so much that he's turning down this final movie. He could've played hero ball here too and put aside his differences for the sake of concluding the franchise in the right way. Nope, instead it was fuck you Vin kick rocks pal. I respect that move so much.

At the end of the day The Rock doesn't need Vin Diesel, but Vin Diesel needs the Rock. That's the way his public post shoulda went, not calling him your little brother and using other people as manipulation. I couldn't be more Team Rock here.

P.S. Always makes me laugh remembering Vin Diesel's real name is Mark Sinclair.
