Katharine McPhee's 72-Year-Old Husband is Flexing on Everyone for His Wife Being in Incredible Shape After Bearing His Child
I think by now, most of the world is well aware of the special relationship I have with Katharine McPhee. Ever since that season where she came in second to a middle-aged man on "American Idol":
... and it became obvious to the rest of America that she was singing every song directly to me, we've had a thing going., A thing which was repeated a few years back when I went down to Barstool HQ and the Irish Rose got us tickets to see her on Broadway in "Waitress," and it was awkward for everyone in the sold out theater, because with me there, poor Katharine was the dictionary definition of "making a scene."
But alas, I'm not available. And besides, I'm too young for her. As a while back she married a guy old enough to be my father.
Which is fine. I can't apologize for my youth and vitality. All I can do is acknowledge I'm spoken for and we were not meant to be, and wish them all the best. Which, apparently, they have. They're parents now. And her baby's daddy is proudly making sure that all the rest us know just how spectacularly his blushing bride has rebounded from her pregnancy:
You have to appreciate that. A loving husband, proudly showing off his child's mom. Because health is important. Both physical and mental. If you want to do right by your family, to take good care of them, the first thing you need to practice is self-care. Which clearly she has done. Lord knows it's not easy, with all the feedings and diaper changes and staying up through the night when your baby isn't sleeping or is sick.
So it's laudable that a husband would share this with the rest of us as a reminder of how all new mothers should look.
Tragically though, not everyone agrees.
Source - David Foster proudly showed off his wife Katharine McPhee’s fit body on Instagram less than a year after she gave birth to their son.
“what baby!” the Grammy-winning music producer, 72, captioned a photo of the singer, 37, posing in a black bikini on Tuesday to showcase her ripped abs.
Several friends of Foster commented with fire emojis. However, other followers thought the post was a bit out of touch.
“‘Uncomfortable antiquated compliments’ on aisle 1,” one person wrote, receiving 155 “likes.”
Another, receiving more than 200 “likes,” agreed sarcastically, “Yeah, let’s perpetuate the unhealthy narrative that women need to be back to or smaller than their pre-pregnancy size postpartum .”
Sad. Very, very sad. Katharine should be held up as an example for post-birth fitness. Someone all moms should aspire to be. And Foster should be applauded for supporting her this way, not dragged down for body-shaming every less attractive mother and contributing to postpartum depression or whatever. It's truly tragic when we can't embrace a new mom being insanely hot and a husband who's proud of his much, much younger wife for getting back into pre-baby shape.
So to Mr. & Mrs. Foster, don't let the bastards drag you down. She should keep hitting the gym and he should keep posting the photos and just ignore the haters. And to all you future mothers out there, here's what you can aspire to be while your children's fathers let themselves go to pot. No one ever said parenting was fair.
