A Guide To The Best Burgers In Charleston, WV In Honor Of RNR 16 (According To Yelp)
As you all know, and if you didn't know now you do, tonight is Rough N' Rowdy 16 in what promises to be BY FAR the best Rough N' Rowdy we've ever put on. There's so many awesome fights leading up to Nadudoodoo v. Jersey Jerry in a Top 1 headliner of all-time. And of course it goes without saying we are OF COURSE having the ever lasting ring girl contest again which just happens to be my favorite part of the night.
So if you happened to be in Charleston, West Virginia for fight night today I figured why not throw together a list of the best burgers in town if you want some pre (or post) brawl meals around town. I hit up ole Yelp and put in "highest rated" places to see what they had to offer. Let's get into it.
#1 The Grill
So the Grill looks like an establishment straight out of a movie in the 60's. No chance this place has been touched in many, many years and there's a simple menu to boot that features the typical classics you see at a joint like this and then some wild cards like a taco hot dog & a Boca Burger. If we're being honest though the food ABSOLUTELY passes the eye test here. It may not be a burger though if you click on the 18th photo there that set of chili/cole slaw hot dogs look out of this world. The burger in photo #20 ain't look too shabby as well! And how about the mound of butter solo in photo #21? Iconic.
#2 Hot Diggity Dogs
Alright so I'm at kind've a crossroads here as I don't think Charleston is a massive burger town. This splendid looking place Hot Diggity Dog is ranked #2 on yelp with only 13 photos of the food & none being the burger to boot. This is slowly looking a massive hot dog town…which sure is NOT a bad thing. Those 3 dogs in photo #3 on yelp sure look like they'd a warm welcome to my tastebuds any day of the week.
#3 Suzi's Hamburgers
Alrighty Suzi! Finally a hamburger joint we can get down with! Although I gotta say- all that grub on the yelp page looks phenomenal. Those breakfast sangys? C'MON! And I feel like I almost don't even have to mention the biscuits & gravy in photo #10. That should literally be a phone background it looks delectable. The thing I'm most hung up on here is that there's many breakfast biscuit sandwiches then a BLT on a biscuit. Does…that…mean…you can do a…BISCUIT BURGER there? If so that's it. Game, set, match. 3rd time's the charm in Charleston. That sounds undefeated.
