Brian Kelly Once Invited His Assistants to a Party and Then Made Them Shovel Snow and Park Cars All Night

In the wake of Brian Kelly leaving another program in the dead of night, plenty of stories are re-surfacing about the new LSU head coach. But this one tops the list.

When now-NFL head coaches Robert Saleh and Matt LaFleur were graduate assistants under Kelly at Central Michigan, they received what they believed to be invitations to a party at Kelly's house. As it turns out, however, they received mandates to shovel snow and park cars all night. Sounds about on par for the guy who gave his Notre Dame team all of two minutes of his time on his way out the door.

I think Kelly is going to crush it on the field at LSU, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's always done things the right way. After all, there is that one story...

When you're a college football program getting into bed with Kelly, you know exactly what you're signing up for at this point. He's going to win ballgames and if a better opportunity arises, he'll bolt at the drop of a hat. But doing that to an organization worth hundreds of millions of dollars is a bit different than making your assistants think they were coming to a party and then handing them shovels.

I guess at least now anyone who wants to be a grad assistant at LSU knows what they're signing up for. At least it doesn't snow in Louisiana.
