Absolute Nightmare Scenario Unfolding: Cheaters Are Starting To Invade Halo Infinite Multiplayer
This fucking sucks. There's no other way to say it. Cheaters are beginning to invade Halo Infinite and I don't see any signs of them stopping anytime soon.
Making multiplayer games free to play is overwhelmingly positive for the entire gaming community. It completely eliminates the barrier for entry to play a certain video games. This is one of the primary reasons why games like Fortnite, Warzone and games on addictinggames.com were SO popular. Anyone could play them or try them out.
So while allowing virtually anyone to play said game is overwhelmingly positive, it also allows cheaters to enter the game with minimal risk. Let's take a second and think about how few cheaters we've seen in Call of Duty: Vanguard. Aside from a few sleezeballs, there really isn't many. In Warzone it's inevitable to find cheaters but in Vanguard it's not as prevalent. A large part of that is due to the $60 purchase price for Vanguard.
According to 343 Industries, Halo Infinite will have an "ever-evolving approach to anti-cheat." 343 Industries doesn't welcome cheaters, but they also want to respect player's privacy and not include an anti-cheat software that can see all the programs your computer is running.
Ultimately, I'm not really sure how effective Halo's anti-cheat approach will be. Only time will tell.
