AEW Gave A Storyline YEARS In The Making The Most Feel-Good Ending Possible Last Weekend

After building this storyline up and working on it for years, "Hangman" Adam Page finally defeated his former tag team partner and friend-turned-foe, Kenny Omega, for the AEW World Championship this past weekend at Full Gear, and it was one of the best culminations to a professional wrestling storyline that I could remember since Daniel Bryan won the titles at WrestleMania XXX.

In the case of Bryan, though, that felt like such an amazing moment because the fans forced WWE's hand into making OUR guy THEIR guy that night. It had major "us versus them" vibes, and in the case of "Hangman" Adam Page - it couldn't be more opposite. This was a carefully cultivated angle from the jump with layers upon layers to it and callbacks galore, and it felt like AEW was rewarding the fans for paying close attention at every turn. It was a lot less "us versus them" and more "we did it".

We got to the culmination of this amazing rivalry and everything went down the way it should have all along.

I broke down the entire card with my friend Will Washington from Fightful's GRAPSODY and we had a great time talking about this show top-to-bottom - ESPECIALLY Punk vs Kingston. I even talked about my backstage encounter with Shaq....
