It's Official: Professional Call of Duty Teams 'Chicago OpTic' + 'Dallas Empire' Have Officially Rebranded To OpTic Texas
The announcement that we've all been waiting for. If you follow the professional Call of Duty scene at all, you knew this exact roster was coming following the retirement of FormaL, the release of Envoy (both previously OpTic) and the releases of both Crimsix and Vivid (previously Dallas Empire).
The one curveball to me was the name OpTic Texas - I was expecting the name to be changed to Dallas OpTic or some variation, but OpTic Texas is a smooth name.
This roster is NASTY going into the Vanguard Call of Duty League season. I ride or die with OpTic Gaming, so nothing will change much here for me. The OpTic Texas team will feature:
- Scump (the king of competitive Call of Duty)
- Dashy
- iLLeY
- Shotzzy
In the previous CDL season, no one could really compete at the same level as Atlanta FaZe.
This roster assembled above is easily going to give FaZe a run for their money this season. I just really wish the CDL season was starting ASAP and not waiting until February to start. CourageJD said it perfectly:
Lastly, OpTic has left NRG and joined forces with Envy (Envy previously owned Dallas Empire).
