ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS - Illinois High School Football Game Ends With A Final Score Of 94-72

Quad City Times - Defense was hard to come by in the first round of the Class 6A football playoffs at Almquist Field on Friday night as Springfield and Rock Island combined to set multiple 6A records as the ninth-seeded Senators won 94-72.

Each team combined for 24 touchdowns in a game which lasted well over three hours.

1300 yards of total offense. 24 touchdowns in 48 minutes. Endless amounts of big plays and high octane scoring drives. Just a preposterous amount of high school touchdowns in the opening round of the IHSA state playoffs. Shoutout to all the high school kids across the country that are out here next couple weeks trying to carve out a legacy. Truth be told, life goes downhill for a lot of you after that final whistle. I hate to be so dramatic but that's the truth behind American high school sports. Those kids hung 72 tonight and lost. They have to live with that forever.

Even so, you're apart of the history books. It must take some kind of black magic to give up 94 points in a playoff game where you're actively trying to stop them from scoring. My math says a couple two point conversions and you're absolutely hitting 100. Imagine giving up 100 on senior night in front of your cheerleader girlfriend who invited her step dad to watch you play corner. That's rock bottom for a 17 year old. Hopefully none of you guys get a taste of those emotions this fall. Leave all that shit on the field and don't look back.

94-72.

Worst 18 point loss in high school football playoff history.

Go Brother Rice.

Go Crusaders.
